Former Kirklees College student finds TV fame on BBC documentary about young entrepreneurs
Former Kirklees College Student Adam Ali is making his TV debut tonight as he stars alongside 5 other entrepreneurs on BBC Newsbeats documentary DIY Generation: Young Hustlers.
Adam who studied on Kirklees College’s Level 3 Peter Jones Enterprise course and won National Entrepreneur of the Year for his business DigiSee – a bespoke digital signage solution company, was awarded with the £5,000 prize by Dragons Den star Peter Jones earlier this year.
The documentary, presented by BBC 1Xtra DJ Jamz Supernova, follows the lives of the six entrepreneurs as they battle through the first year of setting up their businesses and the struggles and tribulations they encounter as they try and turn their passions into successes.
Adam is one of the many 16-24 year olds determined to make a success of their own business, with figures showing that the amount of people working for themselves has doubled since 2001.
As the youngest Entrepreneur on the show and with a young family to support, the pressure is certainly on for this ambitious 21-year old and the documentary showcases Adam’s struggle throughout the summer period as he struggles to make any sales, (spoiler alert) to the success he has as he gains 11 new clients by the end of the documentary.
Now with a new website, professional logo and sign written van, and a smart home office, Adam is flying high up the ladder of success.
